9/10/2008 Please Shine 如果听完整张《Fear and Love》再来回味《Please Shine》的时候，不知道是否还能记得第一次听到这首歌的感动。专辑所有曲目中最为soft & sweet的声音，少了很多bass的嘶吼，多了一些温暖的piano，这样一首最不rock的rock毫无理由地在瞬间俘获我们日渐麻木的脆弱心灵。是旋律、唱腔还是编曲抑或配器，面对音乐本身带给我们的真切感受，这些客观的描述还是少说为妙。 作为来自加州San Diego的一支独立摇滚乐团，We Shot the Moon走过的道路还不算太曲折。主唱兼键盘手Jonathan Jones，曾经带领过现已解散的乐团Waking Ashland，兼具创作天赋、迷人嗓音和执着精神，是整个组合的灵魂人物。组建初期，We Shot the Moon有一段名为The Honor Roll的短暂历史。2007年8月，在朋友的帮助下，乐团进入位于橘郡的录音室着手专辑的制作，2007年12月完成了首张名为《The Polar Bear & Cougar》的EP，期间在美国本土和日本进行巡演；随后于2008年4月正式推出乐团首张LP——《Fear and Love》。值得一提的是：《Fear and Love》的封面产生于由乐团主办的设计大赛的获奖作品，充满童真的涂鸦与乐团率性洒脱的风格相映成趣。兴许出于对音乐的追求与坚持，组团以来，We Shot the Moon的成员几经更替，只有Jonathan Jones和鼓手Trevor Faris保持稳定，现任吉他手和贝司手分别为Jason De La Torre及Adam Lovell。2008年8月，前主音吉他手，就是那个右胳膊半臂彩纹的Paul Wheatley由于个人原因离开乐团，在新一轮巡演中临时顶替他的是Nate Miller。 客观而言，尽管风格类似的流行摇滚乐团其实并不少，除了《Please Shine》，We Shot the Moon确实给我们带来了一张可听性极强的专辑。关于这颗冉冉升起的明日之星，有限的了解中暗藏了无限的创作潜力以及无法预料的变数，除了期望Jonathan Jones能够为我们带来更多更好听的音乐之外，只能默默祝福We Shot the Moon未来的道路能越走越久，宽阔而踏实。 You shine, I shine.
